| Our mission is to raise awareness of Tay-Sachs disease in all populations and increase carrier screening so this disease may be eliminated. This ultimately will be Conner's Way of educating the public on Tay-Sachs and saving other babies and families from the tremendous heartbreak we are experiencing. |
| Currently the College of Obstetrics and Gynecology recommends carrier screening for women of Jewish descent, although there are other documented high risk populations. We feel that it is absolutely unacceptable for the remainder of society to be left unknowingly at the mercy of this horrible disease. Simple and reliable carrier screening is available, but it is not offered to the general public. Our ultimate goal is to expand education on Tay-Sachs and to have carrier screening available to all races, ethnic and religious backgrounds. |
